Counselling & Psychotherapy

I work with people with a range of personal difficulties. Counselling is mainly focused on the here and now, and is suitable for people who have a specific problem that they need help with, such as a current dilemma or a bereavement.

Psychotherapy looks at how our past affects our present, and is more suited to people who have more deeply rooted problems, such as self-esteem issues, depression or trauma.

My work is grounded in Transactional Analysis, which is an accessible and versatile approach. I am neurodiversity affirming.

Issues I work with include:

  • Anxiety,

  • Depression,

  • Performance anxiety,

  • Relationship difficulties,

  • Low self-esteem,

  • Parenting and family relationships,

  • Trauma

Psychotherapy Client

“Through working with Philippa I re-orientated my emotional framework. I thought therapy was to ‘make me better’, but through our sessions I realised that more often it was encounters with environments and people, past and present, that shaped my feelings in the here and now. And in that respect these spaces and relationships needed to work better for me. I had been looking through the wrong end of the telescope. Only now can I ask with clarity, confidence and kindness for what I need and recognise for myself what are healthier relationships and life choices.”
